The exceptional plus point of Kufstein is that there are so many ways to get here. Whether it is by bike via the Inntal Cycle Path, by train, on foot or if necessary, by car, you can always get to Kufstein and Old Town Hotel Platzhirsch in the centre of Kufstein easily and conveniently. Admittedly, for environmental reasons, we advise travelling by train, which, on the whole is also the most convenient way. Aside from the fact that Kufstein train station is a mere 210 metres from the Platzhirsch and is very relaxing to get to via the pedestrianised and traffic-calmed zones.
Important information: The hotel and Platzhirsch coffee house are located in the pedestrianised zone in the centre of Kufstein. It is not possible to drive right up to the hotel entrance area. The hotel entrance is only accessible via the pedestrianised zone on foot and not by car.
Important note: It is around 5-10 minutes walk time to Platzhirsch hotel and coffee house. At the train station there is a taxi rank and bus stop serving local stops, one of which is also very close to the Platzhirsch (Oberer Stadtplatz stop). On request we are also happy to collect you in the hotel bus from the train station (reservation required).
Important note: The Platzhirsch hotel and coffee house does not have its own parking area. If you will be arriving by car, we recommend you to use the park garage at "Cultural Quarter Kufstein"; the entrance is on Marktgasse 2. A short stroll of around 5 minutes will then take you to the Platzhirsch on Unterer Stadtplatz 19 in the pedestrianised zone. On request we are also happy to collect you with our collection service from the garage in the Cultural Quarter in Kufstein (reservation required).
Important note: There are no public car parking areas close to the Platzhirsch. There are of course public car parks in Kufstein, most of which are located in the centre of Kufstein in the fee-payable short stay parking areas. Cost for short stay parking areas: fee payable from Mon-Fri 8-12 and 13-18, max. parking time 3 hours, for each 3/4 hour EUR 0.50, Saturdays and Sundays no charge; tickets available from the ticket machines; designated areas, blue ground markings
The international long-distance cycle route, the Inntal Cycle Path proceeds through Kufstein and is located a mere 90 metres from the Platzhirsch Kufstein and Unterer Stadtplatz 19. We should point out that there are no specific storage areas for your bicycle in the hotel.
